Guided Writing Folders (Multi-Pack of 5)

Develop students’ writing abilities with this Guided Writing Folder. This trifold walks students through the writing process, supporting students in the brainstorming, drafting, and editing stages.

The laminated material allows students to write directly on the folder, erase their work, and use the folder again and again. The graphic organizers & checklists included on each page of the trifold support your students’ writing organization and can be used at the sentence, paragraph, or passage level!

How we use them:

Use each section of the trifold folder to walk students through the entire writing process from understanding what type of writing they are completing to editing for grammar and mechanics.

1. Part one prompts students to identify the type of writing they are being asked to complete and provides a place for them to brainstorm. 
2. Part two helps students outline their writing and organize the key information. 
3. Part three provides checklists to help students edit for key content (e.g., introductions, evidence, transitions, and more), as well as grammar and mechanics. 

There is also a space for students to practice time management and executive functioning! Students can write directly on the laminated pages, erase them when they are done, and use the folder again and again.

Intended for students in grades 2-12+

What’s Included:

• A pack of five (5) Guided Writing Folders.
• Each folder is 8.5” x 11” folded and 25.5" x 11" fully opened. The folder is color-printed on heavy, laminated paper stock to allow for repeated use. 
• The folder is finished in a dry-erase laminate, allowing students to write on it with dry-erase markers. We recommend Expo markers.
• We strongly recommend that the folder be wiped clean after every use with a tissue. For smudges or marker residue, you can use a light amount of Expo dry-erase spray or rubbing alcohol to clean the folder.
