Vocabulary Bookmarks (25-Pack)
Vocabulary Bookmarks (25-Pack)
SKU:SRW-BM-V
Support students’ receptive and expressive vocabulary with these Vocabulary Bookmarks. The front of this bookmark provides students with a Vocabulary Knowledge Rating Scale to help foster their metacognition and ability to recognize unfamiliar words. The other side provides students with a definition framework through which they are prompted to think of a word’s category, function, synonym, and antonym/shade of meaning to put together a comprehensive definition.
The bookmark’s two-sided design doubles the use you get out of them and provides a visual cue for students. Whether you tape them to the students’ desks or use them as a traditional bookmark, these are sure to support vocabulary development.
How We Use Them:
Use these bookmarks as visual cues throughout our instruction.
Have students follow along with the Vocabulary Knowledge Rating Scale to determine how well they understand the words in a story, from a word list, or from your vocabulary list.
Flip the bookmark over and ask students to answer each component of the Definition Framework to create a comprehensive, well-rounded definition that they will understand in much more detail than if they copied one out of a dictionary.
Grade Level Target:
Intended for students in grades K-12+
